COMMUNITY LOTTO
There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €3,600. The winning numbers were 17, 22, 28 and 31. There were two matchthree winners Each receiving €100 each. The match-three winners were Scallon Gang and Matty Mowatt. The next lotto draw will be held on Tuesday, August 8, and the jackpot now stands at €3,800.
SYMPATHY
We extend sympathy to the family of Betty Wall, Longridge and also to Trish Burrell and family, Seafield, Duncormick on the death of her sister Ann Hannon, Coolcull-Taghmon. Both who died recently. May they rest in peace.
GARDENING SHOW
An invitation is extended to keen gardeners to compete in this year’s Gardening Show, to be held in the Agricultural Museum (Johnstown Castle) on September 9 and 10. Any flowers, fruit, and vegetables can be entered as well as homemade Preserves, jams, pot plants, and floral arranging, there are special sections for children. New category Best Scarecrow. YOUTH PILGRIMAGE
There is a Youth Pilgrimage to Our Lady’s Island on Saturday, August 12. Pilgrims are welcome to join us at 2.30 p.m. in Tomhaggard to walk to Our Lady’s Island for Holy Mass at 7 p.m. This will be followed by a talk for youth and a barbecue. Families and young adults are especially welcome.
LATE FR FINTAN MORRIS
A sincere word of thanks to Fr Kevin Cahill, Fr Bernard Cushen, Tony, Ger, Mona, Jacqui, the altar servers, the choir and all those present for the celebration of Holy Mass on Friday, July 28, in Rathangan. This Mass was offered to remember and acknowledge the trojan work that Fr Fintan did in the three churches in the parish during his ministry here. May he rest gently in his native Wicklow and his soul rest in peace.

AMBROSETOWN PATRON
The annual patron will be held in Ambrosetown, on August 8, at 8 p.m. Thank you to Cllr Michael Whelan for his ongoing help and advice and in matters concerning the graveyard, to Eoin and John Harpur of Wellingtonbridge for manufacture of a new gate to the graveyard, also to Wexford County Council for financial assistance for our new gate, finally to Father Cahill and Rathangan parish council, for continuing to maintain the graveyard.
MCCALL’S COTTAGES
The homes will be open for general public viewing after the patron on August 15 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The homes are not yet fully let so we are still open for inquiries and interest from anyone considering a move. TIDY TOWNS
Duncormick Area Action Group has once again entered this year’s Tidy Towns Competition with judging from June-August. We are appealing to everyone to help us in obtaining better results this year and be proud of our village. We would also like to ask everyone to use the litter bins provided in the village.

ROSSLARE TIDY TOWNS
Tidy Towns Volunteers continue with the necessary maintenance work of Litter Control, Weed Control and in general keeping the Village Clean and Tidy. This is for the benefit of all residents and visitors and we welcome help and involvement from anyone who shares our commitment for the village and community.
We have already had the first of our Review Meetings the purpose is to reflect on all the work and projects completed since January and to learn from the various experiences.
We will be having further such meetings before the results of the 2017 competition are announced so that we can take an objective view of the progress that we have made.
