CTEC – get recognised qualifications that employers want
CTEC is running QQI courses in childcare and healthcare on a part-time basis that are fully funded under the Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning (PEIL) 2014-2020 project. These courses run one day per week and are open to women who are not in paid employment and are not in receipt of Social Welfare Payment. The following courses run one day per week and are open to eligible applicants:
QQI level 5 Early Childhood Care & Education
QQI level 6 Early Childhood Care & Education
QQI level 5 Health Service Skills

FREE Digital Literacy Courses Starting Soon
CTEC is running FREE training courses in various locations in County Wexford shortly having received funding from the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment under the Digital Skills for Citizen’s Grant Scheme. These courses will introduce people to using the Internet, managing email, staying safe online as well as social media and online government services and are aimed at those with no or limited computer literacy. The QQI level 6 Special Purpose Award in Training & Development consists of two separate modules – QQI level 6 Training Needs Identification and Design and QQI level 6 Training Delivery & Evaluation. When you successfully complete both modules you will be awarded a QQI level 6 Special Purpose Award. If you already have a FETAC level 6 Train the Trainer Award, contact CTEC to see if you can gain an exemption towards part of the new Special Purpose Award.
You can study for the QQI level 5 Early Childhood Care & Education National Certificate and QQI level 6 Early Childhood Care & Education Advanced Certificate as evening classes at CTEC. Again, classes are modular so you can study in the evenings until you gain your major award. Selected modules at QQI level 6 are run following the Montessori Methodology.
Our QQI level 5 Health Service Skills course is ideal for those wishing to train as healthcare assistants and work in nursing homes, the local community and with care agencies. Day and evening courses are available.
Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI) and ICT Qualifications
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking for a qualification to improve your career prospects, CTEC can offer a variety of courses from Equalskills, ECDL and ECDL advanced to QQI courses in Payroll, Bookkeeping, Accounts, Business Administration Skills and Reception and Office Skills. ATI qualifications allow you to train and gain experience in the world of finance and the course has excellent progression routes towards gaining 3rd level qualifications in finance and accounting.
Also starting in September - FREE English Language Classes for immigrants offering ongoing language development and support funded by the Department of Justice and Equality. Contact CTEC for details and to find a class starting near you.
Funding for Courses and Instalment Payment Plans
You may be eligible for funding towards certified training courses from the Department of Social Protection depending on your personal circumstances and should check with your local Intreo Office for details. All CTEC course fees are payable by instalment. You can set up a payment plan at our Reception and there is no additional charge for this service.
