HISTORY TALK

New Ross man Seamus

Kiely will present an entertaini­ng evening of history and song at 6:30 p.m. called ‘The History Behind the Song’. Seamus has extensivel­y researched the history attached to Barrack Lane, New Ross and many of the prominent landmarks of the surroundin­g areas of the town. ‘The History Behind the Song’ will be a night of stories and music.

The Ár mBreacha House of Storytelli­ng, Raheen, Ballyduff, Camolin, opens its doors at 8 p.m. for weekly stories, songs, music, and more. Free admission. Donations of cakes etc. welcome.

NO MAD RUSH

‘No Mad Rush’, an exhibition of drawing, painting and animation by James Kirwan and Deirdre Byrne opens at 7 p.m. in Gorey Library. Exhibition continues until August 26.

ME AND MY FRIEND

Before they take it to the

World Amateur Drama Festival in Monaco, The Rasper Players present ‘Me and My Friend’ in The Amber Springs Hotel, Gorey, at 7.30 p.m. Though they will perform just one half of the play as a one act to Monaco, they will present both parts on the night. Admission is €12.

Kilmore Quay native Professor J. Ray Bates, Adjunct Professor of Meteorolog­y, UCD gives talk on ‘Climate change: planetary emergency or long-term threat?’ at Hook Lighthouse at 7.30 p.m. in aid of the Helen Blake project.

Mick Egan performs a new batch of songs in The Red Kettle Café, Malin Street, Wexford, from 8.30 p.m. Tickets are €5 and are available from the Red Kettle.
