LADIES’ FOOTBALL

Our Junior A team had a great win in the semi-final on Tuesday the 01 of August beating Castletown 7-07 to 4-11. Castletown made a great start and were winning by four points at half time but in a blistering second half which saw the lead change hands several times our girls came out on top by five points.

This was a brilliant game of football and hopefully now they can go ahead and win the final vs Bunclody in St Patrick’s park at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 19.

Great credit must also go to the Taghmon GAA management committee for having the pitches and complex in fantastic condition.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Many thanks to all who contributed to our annual church gate collection over the past two weekends. Your most generous donations enables our area to renew our membership for 2018.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of National Community Games and our area has a record four individual athletes representing Wexford in August. Best of luck to Muireann Hore – discus, Chloe O’Toole – 100m, Ben O’Toole – 600m and Aisling Kelly – 200m. Enjoy this very special occasion. The parish is very proud of you.
