Castlebridge Show delight

-

A gorgeous smell lingered in Castlebridge Hall for the 77th Castlebridge Horticulture and Agriculture Show as many participants entered their beautiful flower arrangements and tasty, homemade treats.

Hundred of people gathered to see the impressive display of over-sized fruit and vegetables, potted plants, breads, cakes and jams. The craft section included pieces of knitted crochet and handmade crafts.

Visitors enjoyed the collection of photographs in the photography section, which displayed scenic spots around Wexford and pictures of the agricultural life.

Over in the agricultural section, there was a wide range of maize, oats, wheat, barley and fodder beat.

The youngsters also joined in, they showed off their art and home produce in the junior section. The kids were well entertained for the day, most of them entered the fancy dress parade and each received a prize.

For the afternoon, Mrs Oddsocks came along to amuse the children with a Punch and Judy show, followed by the popular Pets Corner. The dog show brought a lovely mix of different breeds, where they all entered into a variety of classes with winners receiving red rosettes.

‘We would just like to take this opportunity to thank our judges, sponsors and all the dedicated volunteers,’ said PRO Lorraine Butler.
