VINTAGE NEWS

Vintage enthusiast­s enjoyed themselves on a bus trip to Moynalty last Sunday in brilliant weather. Special thanks to the organiser Seán Byrne, Oulart, secretary of the Wexford/Wicklow group, helped by John Redmond chairman of the Over the Water Group.

SINCERE SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to the White Families Ballina on the death of Marion’s brother Adian Byrne, Blackwater last week.

HERITAGE GROUP

Ballymurn Heritage Group undertook a project to have a crucifix erected in Kilmallock cemetery in memory of all entered there. Fr Finn and Fr Cullen blessed the crucifix on Sunday at the patron.

The group would like to express a sincere thank you to Anthony O’Gorman Ballysilla for his generous donation of the cross and also the great job he did putting it in place. The graveyard looked lovely on this special occasion, a great credit to everyone who looks after it so well.

HERITAGE WEEK WALK

In order to celebrate National Heritage Week, The ‘Unyoke Walk’ will take place on August 26 and will commence at the Trading Post at 10 a.m. and finish at Tulach a tSolais on Oulart Hill at 12.30 p.m. This moderate 11km walk, with expert guides, includes a 2km stretch of the original Dublin-Wexford Coach Road, into the medieval Lower Street of Oulart en route to the Battlefiel­d of Oulart Hill.

Refreshmen­ts, courtesy of the Trading Post, will be provided free of charge to Heritage Week Walkers, at Tulach a tSolais.

Bingo is playedever­y Monday night in the Anvil Ballymurn at 9 p.m. Penny Bank Penny bank collection­s every Saturday and Sunday in the hall after Masses.
