Jack Pettit’s month’s mind Mass will take place in Church of the Assumption Our Lady’s Island this Friday, August 25at 8 p.m. For those attending, refreshmen­ts will be served after Mass in the Community Centre.

PAISTI BEAGA

Paiseti Beaga wish to invite everyone to the open day of our new preschool and after school service (at former Broadway Tavern premises) on Saturday, August 26, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

PILGRIMAGE

During the pilgrimage season Mass is celebrated every day at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., including Saturday and Sunday. This Wednesday, 23rd, Francesa Browne will speak on Whispering Angels during 8 p.m.

FOOTBALL WIN

Well done to our Junior B Footballer­s, who beat Kilmore in Rathangan on Saturday last to advance to the District Final. In a fiercely contested game, the lads pushed on in turning their eight point half time lead into a 14 point winning margin on a 3-11 to 0-06 scoreline. Scorers on the day were Cathal Devereux 1-04 (2f), Dean Maloney 2-01, Joey Murphy and Quinn Saunders 0-02 each, Nicky Keane and Gary Walsh 0-01 each

INTERMEDIA­TE HURLING

The men will travel to Killurin this Saturday to take on old foes Marshalsto­wn-Castledock­rell, with both teams looking to secure a quarter final spot in the Intermedia­te A championsh­ip. Throw-in is midday and all supporters are, as ever, welcome along the line to play their part in what should be tough contest.
