Cleariestown actor starring in Dublin fringe
Is it a play, is it a dance? How To Be Angry is a bit of both, a bizarre black comedy starring Wexford actor Tiernan Kearns which will be premiered at Smock Alley Theatre as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival, running from September 19 to 23 at 6.30p pm each evening.
The new show will be presented by Brazen Tales Productions which has enjoyed previous success with Big Bobby, Little Bobby.
It was written by Brazen Tales founder Camille Ross with director Anna Sheils McNamee, art director Caoimhe Connolly, tech and set design Mick Cullinan, creative producer John Dennehy and composer Jack Cawley.
The production takes the audience on a journey through offices, kitchens and nightclubs in everyday Ireland where anger is routinely suppressed and tackles our most feared emotion with twisted humour.
Using physical comedy, it explores the wide spectrum of anger from passive aggression to frustration and mild annoyance right up to fuming, explosive rage.
The cast includes Camille Ross, Alix Fox, Tiernan Kearns, Meg Healy and Lorcan Strain.
Tiernan, from Cleariestown, joined County Wexford Youth Theatre when he was 16 years old and was in a number of their productions.
He decided to become a professional actor and graduated from the Gaiety School of Acting in 2011.
His stage appearances include I Was And Emperor, The Last Crusader and The Carved Soul.
He also produced, wrote and performed in Extinct in Theatre Upstairs.
Most recently in featured in the award-winning production RTE Centenary. Other television credits include Terry in the RTE/CBBC series Roy.
