ROSSLARE TIDY TOWNS

Every cloud has a silver lining and this was proven again with the enormous positive response we received after the recent report of some anti social behaviour. We now Thank all the people who made contact, your support and encouragement is most welcome and we are continuing at a pace with our plans and projects for 2018 and beyond.

We hope to have the results of this year’s Competition around the end of September meanwhile our work of Litter Picking, Weeding, and General Maintenance continues and if anyone has any suggestions or ideas that might help enhance the Village Please feel free to make contact with us. As always we welcome new volunteers, there is nothing better than seeing our volunteers enjoying all the benefits of helping to make their community a Healthier, Happier and Better Place.

As the summer Holiday Season draws to an end Tidy Towns would like to Thank the many Visitors, who helped us in keeping the Village free of litter and weeds. Regardless of the competition results (due end of September) we are very happy with the huge volumes of positive feedback and support from Visitors and Holiday Makers as well as from many permanent Residents.

We know that more can be done and we are optimistic that this will be achieved especially if we get the support of the Residents throughout the months ahead.

While we now concentrate on our Plans for the years ahead our core group of volunteers continue with the ongoing maintenance work and we again request the co-operation of All to ensure that the streets are litter and weed free.

At our Review Meetings we are identifying the positives and negatives and already it looks like there is a big increase in illegal dumping also a lot of negative comment on dogs without leads and dogs on the Beach Area where children were at play. We will look at all situations and see what additional efforts we can put in place but in reality it comes down to personal responsibility, civic pride and duty.

Tidy Towns will meet on Wednesday, August 30, at 10.30 a.m. in Cois Barry House, All are welcome to attend.
