THRESHING/FIELD DAY

Blackwater Vintage Club’s annual Vintage Threshing and Field day will take place in Blackwater village on Saturday, September 30, at 1 p.m. Other attraction­s include bottle stall, dog show, live music and dancing with Declan, vintage display and many more. END OF SEASON FUNDAY

Blackwater Coiste na nÓg are holding an End of Season Fun Day on Sunday, September 17, in the GAA grounds which will include a barbecue, bottle stall and lots of fun and games for all commencing at midday to 3 p.m. All donations for our bottle stall and baked goods section would be greatly appreciate­d and can be dropped to the GAA grounds on Sat16th between 11 a.m. And 2 p.m. Hope to see you all there. PB’s, including 1.79m in the High Jjump. Jack took home a very well deserved bronze medal. He finished fourth in the Hurdles (time of 12.93) third in the Shot Putt in a PB of 12.34M; first in the High Jump (1.79) second in the 800m and fourth in the Long Jump with a distance of 5.24.

WHIST

Whist results at Kyle Forge for August 30 Winners included Betty Shanahan, Cathriona Cullen, Eilish Darcy (ladies) Kathleen Hayes, Frances Morris, Stella Nolan (gents) Betty Butler, M. Dunbar (best half). Results from Wednesday, September 6, Winners in the ladies category were Marie Donegan, Maura White, Mary Morrissey, while the winners in the gents section were Stella Nolan, Mollie Murphy, Polly Maher.

The final whist session at Kyle Forge will take place this Wednesday, September 13, There will be extra prizes on the night. Whist for the winter season commences in Glynn hall on Wednesday, September 20, at 8 p.m sharp.

55+ CLUB

The local club will resume once again today, Tuesday, September 12, Members meet at Kyle Forge between 2 and 4 p.m. New members are always welcome. Why not drop in for a game of cards, a good chat and a cuppa.

YOUTH CLUB

Crossabeg Youth club resumes on Friday, September 15, from 8.10 p.m in Crossabeg national school. Membership is open for first years onwards and you can register on the night. Registrati­on fee of €10. Please note all members, new and old, must be accompanie­d by their parent/ guardian when registerin­g.
