Curracloe see off All Blacks to start the season in style

All Blacks 0, Curracloe United 4: Curracloe got their season off to a good start when they travelled to All Blacks and came away with all three points after a 4-0 win.

Polly Redmond, Emma Cullen, Caoimhe Tobin and Zara Corrigan were all on target for the visitors.

North End United 0, Wexford Youths 9: In a game played in difficult weather conditions, Wexford Youths proved far too strong for a young North End side and ran out comfortabl­e 9-0 winners. Sophie Kurba and Jenna Kirwan scored two each while Angel Doyle and Aoife Doran added one apiece and Cliona Kearney contribute­d with a hat-trick.

Gorey Rangers 0, Aughrim Rangers 4: Aughrim Rangers continued their good form at this age group as they travelled to the Showground­s and came away 4-0 winners.

Ciara Connolly scored a hattrick for the visitors, with Emma Keenan also getting her name on the scoresheet.

Adamstown 0, Forth Celtic 0: Both these sides cancelled each other out in a game that defences dominated.

Both created chances but neither were able to convert the opportunit­ies, and in the end they had to settle for a point each.

Bridge Rovers 4, Kilmore United 1: Rovers opened their campaign with a win as they overcame a hard-working Kilmore side 4-1.

Niamh Fortune was on target for the visitors while Olivia Morris (two), Mia Denton and Aoife McEldowney scored the vital goals that gave Bridge Rovers the three points.

St. Joseph’s 2, Cushinstow­n A.F.C. 0: Goals from Kaycee O’Connor and Aine Mooney gave St. Joseph’s an opening day win over a young Cushinstow­n side.

A goal in each half saw the home side take the points in an end-to-end exciting encounter.
