Bunclody and saints share spoils in thriller

Bunclody A.F.C. 5, St. Leonards 5: This ten-goal thriller saw plenty of excitement with the sides level 2-2 at the break. St. Leonards moved 5-3 ahead and with ten minutes to go it looked as if they had done enough to secure victory.

However, Bunclody showed great determination and scored twice to earn a point. Eimear Gabbett (two), Eadaoin Kent, Molly Crowdle and Jennah Molloy all scored for the visitors while Faye Larkin (two), Maeve Sinnott, Zoe Kearney and Lara Walsh were all on target for Bunclody.

All Blacks 2, Tombrack United 6: Last year’s champions Tombrack got off to a winning start when they travelled to All Blacks and came away 6-2 winners.

Seren Ward and Emma Carr both scored for the home side while Lucy Kemble (two), Nadine Fortune (two), Becky Connaughton and Amie Dreelan were all on target for Tombrack.

Camolin Celtic 2, Aughrim Rangers 4: These two sides played out an exciting encounter before Aughrim took all three points in their first game at this age group. Aine Byrne and Megan Doyle were both on target for Camolin while Ellie Davitt, Lucy Jane Shannon, Abigail Whitney and Caoimhe Murphy responded for Aughrim.

Seaview United 3, North End United 0: This game was much closer than the scoreline might suggest but it was Seaview who came out on top in the end and took all three points thanks to two goals from Jamie Walsh and one from Ava White-Keating.

Moyne Rangers 11, Carnew F.C. 0: Moyne were far too strong for the young visiting side and knocked in eleven without reply.

Amy Shannon and Shauna Redmond scored four each with Kerrie Burt, Shanise O’Reilly and Faith Walsh all adding one apiece.
