STORYTELLI­NG NIGHT

This Friday, October 6, is ‘Storytelli­ng Night’ in Tacumshane Old School at 8.30 p.m. Come along, sit back and enjoy the music, song and storytelli­ng – take part is you wish. Tea, coffee, cakes served at the interval. All welcome, no chaerge for this comunity night.

BINGO

Our Lady’s Island GAA weekly bingo is played in Butler’s every Tuesday – note earlier time of 8 p.m.

YOUTH CLUB

Our Youth Club is back every Friday night from 7.45 to 9.30 p.m. First years up, in Secondary School welcome. Looking forward to another season. Youth Club is very important to keep our youth talking and meeting friends. New Leaders over 18 very welcome.

COFFEE MORNING

There is a coffee morning in Tacumshane Old School on Sunday next, October 8, after Mass, in aid of the Church Painting Fund.

SPLIT-THE-POT

Congratula­tions to Betty Hayes, Ballyfane on winning €148 in last week’s split-the-pot draw. Draw takes place in the community centre on Sunday after Mass. Thanks to all involved.

OLI SEA SCOUTS

Our Lady’s Island are delighted to announce a proposed new Sea Scouts group. Our Lady’s Island Sea Scouts Carne Beach. We are seeking a few more leaders to volunteer to get involved, to get the group up and running. If you are 18+ and interested in volunteeri­ng your time, the adventure begins here. We will provide you full training, free of charge and full on fun including sailing, camping, hiking, day trips and much more. If you are aged 18 and over and are looking for a new challenge we would love to meet you.

HUNT CANTER

Killinick Harriers are having a charity hunt canter on Sunday, October 8, starting at 9.30 a.m. at Ballycogle­y hall. Last horses at 1 p.m. All jumps will be optional.

ROSSLARE HARBOUR

ICA news coffee morning – Kilrane-Rosslare Harbour ICA in conjuction with the Active Retirement Associatio­n held a very successful coffee morning in Hotel Rosslare on Thursday, September 14, in aid of Hospice Homecare. We wish to thank Caroline, Mark and staff of Hotel Rosslare for their help on the day. We also thank all those who baked for the coffee morning and a special thanks to all who supported this worthy cause. A total of €1,013.00 was raised.

Date of next meeting – The monthly meeting of the ICA will be held on Wednesday, October 4, at 8 p.m. in the Community Center Kilrane. New members are always welcome.

RNLI NEWS

Fish Supper – The Rosslare Harbour RNLI annual Fish Supper will take place on Friday, October 13, in Hotel Rosslare. Food will be served between 6.30 p.m. And 8.30 p.m. with a selection of fish dishes on the menu. Entertainm­ent on the night will be provided by ‘Borderline.’ With lots of prizes to be won on the raffle and a great night’s entertainm­ent guaranteed – be sure not to miss out.

Tickets are currently on sale and they can be purchased from any Fundraisin­g Committee or Lifeboat Crew member and they are also available in the post office in Murphy’s SuperValu.

Presentati­on – Last Friday week (September 22) members of the Fundraisin­g Committee and Operations Team travelled to Kilmuckrid­ge for the presentati­on of a cheque for €14,235 to the Rosslare Harbour RNLI from Eddie Sinnott and his gang. Eddie and his team in Kilmuckrid­ge annually organise a boat pull from Morriscast­le to Kilmuckrid­ge to raise funds for the Rosslare Harbour RNLI.

A big thanks to Eddie and all his team for their support and efforts, not just for this year but for the past thirty-six years of raising funds for Rosslare Harbour RNLI.
