Fr Ciprian is leaving Wexford for the UK
FR. CIPRIAN Budau, the Guardian of the Franciscan Friary in Wexford for the past six years, is leaving to take up a new position in the UK.
The Romanian native who came to Wexford in October 2011, has been appointed Custos at St. Patrick’s Friary in Waterloo, London where he will take up duty later this month.
Fr. Ciprian will celebrate a farewell Mass in the Wexford friary on Sunday, October 15 at 10.45 am and parishioners are invited along to wish him well in his new endeavour. The new Guardian will be Fr. Aquino Maliakkal who has been based in the Friary for the past two years.
Fr. Ciprian has been a popular Guardian of the Friary, having recently overseen a successful fundraising campaign to carry out essential repairs to the centuries-old building in Francis Street.
