Youth (17) accused of series of break-ins

A 17 YEAR old, whose name may not be published, because of his age, was behind a series of breakins around Wexford town, it was alleged at the District Court sitting in Ardcavan.

Among the premises said by Sergeant Victor Isdell to have been affected were the Rainbow child care nursery, Prestige car-wash, Go Go Pizza, the Panda House, Trends hair salon and St Joseph’s GAA.

A remand to October 10 was ordered by Judge Gerard Haughton who was told that the accused was staying at present in the Oberstown juvenile detention centre in County Dublin.

The teenager sat through proceeding­s beside his mother and the judge assigned solicitor Lana Doherty to assist him as free legal aid was granted.
