GARDAI have warned people not to leave valuables in their cars following a number of thefts from vehicles around the town over the past week.

In one of the latest incidents, thieves cut the wiring loom of a van parked in the grounds of the new Loreto school at Coolcotts and stole a drill.

‘There have been a few incidents like this. Our advice is not to leave valuables in vehicles,’ said Inspector Denis Whelan.
