Breastfeeding success
WEXFORD General Hospital has just celebrated National Breastfeeding Week with a small group of midwives, Alma Grannell, Aisling Mc Cabe, Aileen Kehoe, Orla Mongan and Nuria Tasies organising a coffee morning for breastfeeding mothers on the ward last Wednesday. The following Friday, the nursing staff held another coffee morning for breastfeeding mothers in Wexford at the hospital coffee shop. Again it was a huge success, and all mums thoroughly enjoyed the chance to chat.
‘We were also joined by some of the hospital midwives,’ said Alma.
Breastfeeding quizzes were also given to both staff and antenatal mothers and breastfeeding mothers who won some lovely prizes. A breastfeeding stand was in the hospital foyer for the week to mark this special week to promote breastfeeding. Prizes were donated by Evolv, Haven Pharmacy, Sam Mc Cauleys Pharmacy, Ferrycarrig Hotel, Beauty by Grace, Only Natural and Multi Mam.
