Niamh Killeen (26) of Boolabawn, Glynn was granted the benefit of the Probation Act on a drugs possession charge.

Garda Cliona Joyce discovered €20 worth of cannabis herb in the defendant’s handbag on the evening of August 25, last year.

The District Court was told that Ms Killeen had been sitting in a Volkswagen Passat parked in Joseph Street.

Her solicitor said that his client was mother of one child and expecting a second while attending a hairdressing course.
