PIONEER MEETING

A Diocesan Meeting of the Pioneers movement will be held in Bree Community Centre on Tuesday, October 24, at 8 p.m. All pioneers are asked to attend this very important meeting Any pioneers in the parish who are due silver or gold pins are asked to contact Eddie Dunne before October 31.

TABLE QUIZ

The annual table quiz in aid of St John’s Church, Clonmore will take place on Friday, October 27, at 8 p.m. in Enniscorth­y Rugby Club. A table of four costs €20 with refreshmen­ts and raffle on the night also. All support would be greatly appreciate­d.

BREE PARISH JOURNAL

Preparatio­ns are under way for this year’s edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisati­ons in the parish are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready by the end of Oct.

The committee is also looking for photograph­s particular­ly of groups of people from times past as well as items suitable for publicatio­n pertaining to places or people of the area including notable family celebratio­ns. FRIDAY FITNESS

‘Smart Fitness’ will be holding a newW Circuit Training Class on Friday mornings at 9.45 a.m. in Galbally Community Centre in addition to every Tuesday and Thursday evening in Galbally Hall 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bring a towel, water and a friend. Cost is €7.50. For details contact Collette 086 3927655.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

The Ten Pin Bowling Tournament takes place in Leisure Max on October 18. For further informatio­n contact 086 0747823.

BREE YOUTH CLUB

In order that Bree Youth Club is adequately supervised we need up to 12 adult supervisor­s each night. Therefore, we require that one adult from each household gives two nights over the course of the club year to help with supervisio­n, one before Christmas and one in after Christmas.

Therefore, parents are reminded to complete the Garda Vetting form and the online invitation. With a little help from everyone we can continue to provide a meeting place for the young people of the parish and surroundin­g areas.

BREE YOUTH CLUB

The county table quiz finals will take place in Oylegate Community Centre on Friday, October 20, The County Soccer Competitio­n will take place on Friday, November 17, in the Astro Active Centre, Enniscorth­y. Members interested in competing at under-12, under-15 or under-18 should speak with Larry Delaney, Games Officer. Again, participan­ts must be registered members of Bree Youth Club and must be underage on January 1, 2018.

BREE AC NEWS

Outdoor training has resumed on Monday and Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. in Bree field. Indoor training has resumed in Bree Hall on Thursday nights at 7 p.m. to 7.45 p.m. for U5-9 and from 7.45 p.m. to 9 p.m. for older age groups and registered Bree AC athletes.

Eligibilit­y to participat­e on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over. Applicants must also be in receipt of an Irish social welfare payment for one year or more. Garda Vetting will also be required for positions dealing with children. the elderly or vulnerable people.

RECYCLE UNITS

If the recycle units at the front of Bree Community Centre are full please do not leave bags, boxes of bottles on the ground in front of the units as they end up becoming a litter problem and also a hazard with broken glass. Please do not bring household refuse or any other type of rubbish up to the units as it will not be taken away.
