Mass on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9.30 a.m. Adoration every Monday afternoon from 1 p.m. till 7.20 p.m. with Mass at 7.30 p.m. And Adoration then continuing till 9 p.m. Confessions on Saturday evening’s at 6 p.m.

HOUSE OF HORRORS
The children of the parish and indeed their parents will be very disappointed this coming Halloween as the ever popular house of Horrors which took place in the community centre for many years will not be held this year.
The following notice has been received from the committee of Crossabeg-Ballymurn community centre ‘On behalf of the committee of the Crossabeg-Ballymurn community centre, We are sorry to inform you that we will be unable to run our highly successful House of Horrors this year due to the unavailability of a suitable venue. We hope to find an alternative venue for next year. Apologies to all concerned and we wish all the community of Crossabeg and Ballymurn a safe and scary Halloween.’.
ATHLETICS
Congratulations to Emma McCarthy and Paul Freeman, who competed for St Killian’s AC on Sunday week last in the Cross Country County Championships held in Ferns. Emma finished in second place in the under-11 girls category and is still eligible for this age group next year. Paul came fifth in the under-17 category. Both performed very well for their club and will represent Wexford in the Leinster championships in Adamstown.
CLOCKS GO BACK
A reminder that winter time is here and the clocks go back one hour this weekend. Remember to put your clocks back on Saturday night.
Oulart HURRICANE
Oulart, like many other areas in Co. Wexford suffered as a result of Hurricane Ophelia through long power outages and storm – felled trees. Thankfully, though some property was damaged, there were no injuries reported. The right decisions were made regarding school closures and most people heeded the warnings to stay indoors and refrain from unnecessary journeys.
ICA GUILD NEWS
The October meeting of Oulart ICA, due to be held on Monday the 16th was, very sensibly, postponed for one week on account of the severe weather warnings. The ICA invites new members to join and participate in their many and varied activities. The Oulart Guild meets at 8 p.m. on the second Monday of the month, in Cooney’s Lounge.
COUNTY FINAL PROGRAMME
These notes are submitted before the Co. Senior hurling final result is known so all that can be said is that hopefully the men in red and black will have acquitted themselves well and added to the 13 finals already won. In this year’s match programme, the late Willie Sunderland is featured as ‘Player of the Past’.
OULART POSTCARDS
Special postcards, featuring scenes from Oulart monuments, were produced by the newly appointed curator of Leabhar an Abhalloirt, Bridget O’Toole, to coincide with the unveiling of the Mise Éire monument. Packs of six postcards are on sale at five euro per pack and are available from Bridget O’Toole, at Marty’s Bar, from your local correspondent (Breda Jacob) or from any committee member. These postcards would be an ideal Christmas present for friends and relations, at home and abroad.
PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION
The AGM of Scoil Mochua’s parents’ association was held in the school on Wednesday, September 27, and the following new committee was formed for the school-year 2017/2018: Marianne Cooney (chairperson), Jennifer Parkin (Vice-Chair), Breda Walsh and Michelle Butler (treasurers), Pauline Moore (secretary and PRO), Annie Morton (Assistant Sec).
SPLIT-THE-POT
Due to Storm Ophelia and electricity outages no Split – the – Pot draw took place on Monday, October 16. Those entries will roll over to the next draw on Monday, October 23.
UNDER-16 CAMOGIE
Hard luck to our under-16s who lost a hard fought play – off against Glynn-Barntown on Saturday, October 14, losing by a single point. The final score was Glynn-Barntown 3-05 Oulart-The Ballagh 1-10.
COOKERY DEMONSTRATION
In conjunction with our club sponsor Corrigan’s Spar and Family Butchers and Super Chips, well – known chef and food writer Edward Hayden will give a cookery demonstration in the Riverside Hotel, Enniscorthy at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28.
Alongside Edward’s cooking delights, there will be a variety of stalls showcasing their products. It promises to be a great night’s entertainment. Tickets cost €15 each or two for €25 and will be available from camogie club members and the club committee.
SCÓR NA NÓG
The semi-final of Scór na nÓg (under 17 years) will be held in Inch Hall on Saturday, November 18. The Scór na nÓg table quiz will be held on November 9 in Piercestown. Contact Breda Jacob if you are interested in taking part in any Scór event.

Coláiste an Átha will host their annual open night for fifth and sixth class students on Thursday, October 26. We look forward to welcoming prospective students and their families from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Ms Martin will speak to parents and guardians in her Principal’s address at 6 p.m. And 6.30 p.m.

The numbers drawn in the Curracloe United AFC development lotto draw for Sunday, October 15, were 13, 15, 17 and 25. APPRECIATION
Curracloe national school thanks most sincerely the hardworking parents’ association who through their fundraising efforts have paid for many extras including guided reading books and playground equipment including playhouses, basketball stands, slides and PE equipment. The school is a better place because of their dedication and commitment.

SCREEN HALL NEWS
Screen hall committee will hold their annual general meeting on Monday, November 6, at 8.30 p.m. All are welcome to go along if you would like to put forward some new ideas. The hall caters for various fitness classes, birthday parties, charity events and meetings. There is a skip for scrap metal located in C and Cs yard for your donations. The committee would like to thank everyone for their support for the hall.
The Ballagh ALL-STAR NOMINATION
Congratulations to Shelley Kehoe, who is one of four Wexford camogie players nominated for a camogie All-Star this year. The local community sends its best wishes to Shelley and we all hope that her talent and contribution to Wexford will be recognised when the selectors pick the team that will be announced in a couple of weeks.
Interestingly, this year for the first time ever, the camogie All Stars will be travelling abroad on an All-Star trip.

CAMOGIE CLUB 40TH
Oulart-The Ballagh camogie club will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2019. To commemorate this special anniversary it is proposed to publish a book on the club’s history. The book will recall the 40 years of camogie in our parish, the highs and the lows, the stories and memories of current and former players and club members.
A sub-committee to oversee the research and production of the book will be formed in the coming months. In the meantime, we would ask people to think about any information or stories they have about the club, and to root out any photographs, artefacts or newspaper articles that could be used.

ADVANCE NOTICE
Teams from the Enniscorthy and Gorey districts will compete in the semi-final of Scór na nÓg (the GAA talent competition) for boys and girls under 17 years, in Inch Hall on Saturday, November 18. The competitions will begin at 7.30 p.m., following registration at 7 p.m. There are eight events in Scór, namely Figure Dancing, set dancing, Solo Singing, Ballad Group, Recitation, Instrumental Music, Stage Presentation and, on a separate night, the table quiz in St Martin’s GAA on Thursday, November 9.
