OBITUARIES

Sympathy is extended to the following families who have suffered bereavemen­ts recently. Ann Broaders and family Ballyhote, Kilrane, on the death of her father Liam Brennan, Woodtown, Rosslare, who passed away on September 26 Liam was laid to rest in the new cemetery, Tagoat, after funeral Mass in St Brigid’s Church, Rosslare. Sympathy also to his wife Liz and extended family.

Dermot O’Brien, late of Tuskamore Tce, Rosslare Harbour and Bristol, passed away on October 1 Dermot is sadly missed by his sisters Maud, Kathleen and Connie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Dermot’s funeral Mass was celebrated in St Patrick’s Church and he was laid to rest in St Aidan’s cemetery, Kilrane.

Patrick (Patsy) Byrne, Kilrane Manor and late of Dublin, passed away on October 8 His funeral Mass was celebrated in St Ruan’s Church with burial afterwards in St Aidan’s Cemetery. Patsy is deeply missed by his loving wife Dollie, children Sarah, Susan, Rosemary and Thomas, sister Eileen, brothers Christy and Séamus, grandchild­ren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May they rest in peace.

ST MARY’S GAA

BALLYCOGLE­Y PLAYERS

The one-act journey continues for the Players when they will perform their ‘Night of Comedy’ on Friday, November 10, in St Martin’s GAA Complex, Piercestow­n and also on Sunday, November 12, in Carrig-on-Bannow Hall with an 8 p.m. start time on both nights. Looking forward to seeing you all.

ENVIRONMEN­T GROUP

In the Wexford County Council ‘Access for All’ awards we were delighted to win the overall award for our plan to improve access to the new mosaic seats in the Village Park. As well as providing disabled access, the plan includes a ‘sensory’ garden to cater for other disabiliti­es such as hearing loss and impaired vision. The work will start in the coming weeks. If anyone is interested in helping us in our endeavours, they are more than welcome to join us at about 9.30 on Saturday mornings in the Memorial Park section of the Village Park.

Reminder: A WEEE (Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment) cage only for small Household electrical goods and a container for the recycling of fluorescen­t tubes is situated at the back of the Railway Social Club. It is open on Saturday Mornings between 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., weather permitting.

Our befriendin­g service offers companions­hip to older people through weekly visits and telephone calls.

Volunteers are trained by ‘alone’ volunteers are Garda vetted and reference checked we compliment other services such as home help, homecare etc., but do not replace them self-referrals and profession­al referrals are welcome.
