COFFEE MORNINGS RAISE OVER 21,000 FOR HOSPICE

-

MONEY poured in as the people of Wexford town and district showed tremendous support for ‘Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare, raising a whopping €21,323.

Now, Wexford Hospice Homecare Committee have issued a big thank-you to everyone who organised and supported ‘Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice’, sponsored by Bewley’s.

‘The amount we raised has increased by €6,000 compared to last year,’ said a delighted Elizabeth O’Sullivan from the Wexford Hospice Homecare committee.

The money raised will all go towards the services provided by the Wexford hospice homecare team.

Eamonn Mernagh, County Wexford Hospice Homecare chairperson, said they are over the moon with the amount they received, as expenses have increased in recent years.

‘The money we received from the Wexford area committee will go towards the payment of our nurses and our part-time secretary we had to hire when we moved into our new offices this year, due to the increase in work,’ he said.

Wexford participants in this year’s ‘Biggest Coffee Morning’ campaign included Killeen’s Service Station, Clonard Community Centre, The Forge, Crossabeg, Sycamore House, Killurin, Kilrane Rosslare ICA and Active Retirement in Hotel Rosslare, Wexford Harbour Boat and Tennis Club, CTEC in St Peter’s Square and other offices, shops, canteens and private houses.

Wexford Hospice has been participating in the Bewley’s-sponsored national coffee morning event for all of its 25 years.
