Planning applicatio­n for Newbay House

MORE change could be on the way to Newbay House after its recent sale to the Talbot Hotel Group if a planning applicatio­n is given the green light.

Mahon and Fox Architects have lodged a planning applicatio­n with Wexford County Council for planning permission for the erection of an extension comprised of ground floor extension over a part basement extension below to the rear of Newbay House which is a protected structure.

The proposed extension to the basement will consist of a new plant room, service lift, external stairs, internal stairs to access the existing kitchen from the extended dining area at ground floor level together with minor structural alteration­s.

The proposed extension to ground floor will consist of a new extended dining room area, a satellite kitchen, service lift, a new plate up area and toilet facilities for men and women with minor structural alteration­s, re-roofing of part of the existing premises.

The applicatio­n also looks for permission to the erection of a new decking area to the south west and south east elevations of the new extension with both stepped and ramped access as well as a new treatment plant and the extension of the exiting percolatio­n area to cater for the proposed extension together with all ancillary services and associated site works.
