SENTENCING ADJOURNED
SENTENCING in the case of a Castlebridge man who pleaded guilty to a number of drug-related offences has been adjourned to allow for the preparation of various reports.
David Doyle of Killelan, Castlebridge, came before Judge Martina Baxter at Wexford Circuit Criminal Court.
The 50-year-old defendant pleaded guilty to the possession of cocaine, at Killelan, Castlebridge, on January 26, 2016.
He further pleaded guilty to the possesson of cocaine for sale or supply; possession of MDMA on the same date and place; possession of MDMA for sale or supply; possession of cannabis resin; possession of cannabis resin for sale or supply; possession of cannabis herb; possession of cannabis herb for sale or supply.
Defence Counsel John O’Kelly requested an adjournment of sentencing to January next to allow for the preparation of a probation and welfare report.
Mr O’Kelly also said the defendant had been in receipt of psychiatrict treatment throughout the summer at Waterford Regional Hospital. As a result he requested free legal aid to allow for the preparation of a psychological report. A urine analysis was also requested.
Stating there was no objection to bail, Prosecuting Counsel Sinead Gleeson also said there was no objection to the applications.
Judge Baxter adjourned sentencing to January 30 next.
