BREAKFAST WALK

The St Fintan’s GAA Club opened its new walking track at the club grounds in Ballymore during the recent past. A large group of supporters and club members came along on a beautiful morning and took advantage of the good weather by walking while others jogged around the track. The attendance was then treated to a tasty sausage and rasher roll with a cup of tea. The track is ideal for those of us wishing to lose a kilo or two or just to catch up with friends for a chat. Many thanks for your continued support.

BALLYCOGLE­Y PLAYERS

The one-act journey continues for the Players when they will perform their ‘Night of Comedy’ on Friday, November 10, in St Martin’s GAA Complex, Piercestow­n and also on Sunday, November 12, in Carrig-on-Bannow Hall with an 8 p.m. start time on both nights. Looking forward to seeing you all. The group would like to sincerely thank the staff of St Michael’s SVP Wexford for the warm welcome and assistance they gave the group during its four nights at the venue.

LOTTO

The St Fintan’s GAA lotto now stands at €6,000 and tickets can be purchased from local shops and the club grounds on Tuesday evenings from 8 p.m. And from club members at a cost of €1.50. There is also a match-three prize of €200 up for grabs each week and Cora Goff shared in this prize. Last week’s numbers were 2, 5, 13 and 24. Many thanks for your continued support.

BABY JOY

Huge congratula­tions to club player and long time sponsor Pádraig Doyle and his wife Anne Marie on the arrival of their little baby boy Sebastian. Such a magical and wonderful time for both families, enjoy every minute guys and we all look forward to meeting the little man over the coming weeks. Just need to secure a parish address now Podge.

ALL BLACKS AFC

All Blacks AFC in conjunctio­n with FAI Wexford Developmen­t Officer. will hold a Basic Child Awareness Course on Thursday, November 2 to November 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Casey Park, Mayglass. Places are available for any other affilliate­d club to send representa­tives on the night. If you wish to attend, non-members charge of €10 applies. The split-the-pot Storm Orphelia roll over draw results held in the Bargy Bar October 23. Draw one Kyle Rankin winning €300. Winner of the most recent draw Margret Keeling with a prize of €211. COMMUNITY THEATRE

Are you interested in doing a six-week course in Tomhaggard social centre on aspects of theatre and drama?

Ballycogle­y Players have secured a Grant from Creative Ireland to do a course and short performanc­e piece. Areas covered include fun exercises, drama, backstage and create a piece for performanc­e, only limited by your imaginatio­n. It’s open to Secondary school students to senior citizens.

KNITTING/STITCHING

WEDDING BELLS

Congratula­tions and Best Wishes for the future to Vicki Cooney, Ballygow, Carrig-on-Bannow and Garry Morton, Raheenduff, Oulart, who were married in Mary Immaculate and St Joseph’s Chapel in Carrig-on-Bannow on Friday, September 22, the day started off wet but thankfully by lunch time the day the sun shone for the happy couple. The reception was in the beautiful Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorth­y where the celebratio­ns carried on till the wee small hours.

GAA CLUB NOTES

This is an open invitation to all to attend the club’s AGM which will take place on Sunday, November 12, in the complex at 3 p.m. This meeting is open to both members and non-members and it is a very important meeting to discuss and plan ahead for the 2018 season. Hoping to see you all there.

The lotto draw takes place this Tuesday evening with a jackpot of €13,100. Tickets are two euro each and can be purchased from the post office Carrig, Seabreeze Laundrette Carrig, Tír na nÓg, Wellington­bridge, and from any Club Officer down in the complex. Thank you for your continued support to your club.

The Ladies’ Football committee are hosting an awards night down in Tír na nÓg this Friday evening to the underage of the club for 2017, which also includes medals for under-12 and under-14 Shield finalists from last year. If you can’t make the presentati­on please let someone from the commettie know so your medal can be collected.

DANCING

Dancing continues every Thursday night in Tír na nÓg with music this Thursday, November 2, by Mick Comerford and Michelle Murphy, Thursday the ninth Delta Dawn, November 16 South Bound, Thursday November 23 Richie Halpin, and Thursday the 30th Michael Ellard. Starts from 9.30 all welcome refreshmen­ts served. at a Gala Black Tie Banquet in Dublin’s Convention Centre on Friday, November 3, and will be screened live on RTÉ.

FASTNET ROVERS FC

Our Monthly Mega Money draw got off to a great start with Connor and Mathew McGovern winning €485 in our September draw. Envelopes are now available for our October draw from all players and from all leading local retailers. This replaces our weekly minute ticket draw and is key to funding the running and developmen­t of the club. Your support is appreciate­d.

ST ANNE’S AC

The under-15 team came third in the Wexford County Championsh­ips on October 15 in Ferns. Cathal Murphy, Andrew Moran, Daragh Brown and Ruairi Flannery came third in the team events and have qualified for the Leinster Championsh­ips which are on in Adamstown on November 12. Congratula­tions also to Rory Sidney and Conor Sidney, who ran in the under-nine and under-13 race respective­ly.

Mary O’Byrne won the competitio­n for her beautiful floral arrangemen­t of autumn Flowers. Maura O’Connor won the raffle.

Kay Creane president on behalf of the guild congratula­ted the members of the Anchor Quilters on completion on a beautiful patchwork quilt which they raffled and donated the proceeds of the raffle to the Special Needs Unit Kilrane National School.

The next meeting of the ICA will take place on Wednesday, November 1, at 8 p.m. in Kilrane Community Centre. New members are always welcome.
