Man faces child porn and exploitation charges

A 48-year-old unemployed man appeared before the District Court sitting at Ardcavan to meet child pornography charges dating back to 2014.

Garda Michael Kelly confirmed to Judge Gerard Haughton that he had charged the defendant with producing pornography and with sexual exploitation of a girl who is now aged 14.

The man came to court with solicitor Colette Culleton who was assigned to the case under the free legal aid scheme.

The matter was put back to January 2 to allow preparation of a book of evidence.
