Careless driving at junction

A speed of 153 km/h through a junction earned Tiernan Power Roche (20) of New Horizon, Tomhaggard a conviction for careless driving when the matter was considered at Wexford District Court.

The offence committed by the novice jockey was detected by Garda Dene O’Gorman at a speedcheck conducted in Harristown, Taghmon on November 20 last year. The roadway was damp at the time and traffic was light, the court was informed.

The defendant’s mother was in court with her son as a €400 fine was imposed by Judge Gerard Haughton.
