Speeding driver disqualified

-

Breaking the 60 km/h speed limit near his home earned Michael Murphy of Oldtown, Castlebridge a 12-month driving ban.

The case against Murphy went ahead in his absence at the District Court sitting in nearby Ardcavan.

The judge learned that speed detection equipment deployed at Newcastle Lower clocked the offender travelling at 75 km/h on November 11 last year.

The result was a fine of €300 to which was added the two year disqualification as no driving licence details were to hand in court.
