A warm, welcoming evening
THE LONDON-WEXFORD Association held its annual buffet dance at the Railway Club in Cricklewood, London, recently. There was there was a good attendance at the warm and welcoming function, which was well received by everyone.
Among the attendance were a number of councillors from County Wexford who had made the trip across the Irish Sea for the function.
They included Cllr Barbara-Anne Murphy, vice-chair person of Wexford County Council, Cllr Joe Sullivan, cathaoirleach of Gorey Municipal District, Cllr Robbie Ireton, Gorey Municipal District, Cllr Willie Fitzharris, cathaoirleach of New Ross Municipal District, Cllr Michael Sheehan, New Ross Municipal District, and Cllr George Lawlor, Wexford Borough District.
The organisers said they wanted to say a big thank-you to all who attended the function and to all the sponsors, especially to Justin Ffrench, and also to all who donated raffle prizes and who supports the London-Wexford Association throughout the year. They also thanked Emily Cronin for the sumptuous food which was enjoyed by the guests.
Presentations were made to the honorary guests and the night concluded with a raffle. Cllr Lawlor contributed to the event with renditions of some beautiful ballads.
