Jack claims gold at school athletics
JACK FORDE of St. Killian’s A.C. won gold with the Irish Junior boys’ team at the international schools combined events competition at the Emirates Arena, Glasgow, on Friday.
Jack, a student at Wexford C.B.S., was delighted to come away with new best performances in 800m (2.18.02m) and 200m (25.6s). The five-event competition also included 60m hurdles, long jump and shot putt.
The talented multi-eventer, along with his team-mates Iarlath Golding (winner of individual bronze), Alan Miley and Jordan Cunningham, can be justifiably proud of their combined performance.
The Irish team had further reason to celebrate with the Junior girls winning bronze, Intermediate girls taking silver, and Intermediate boys getting bronze.
