A meeting and AGM of the local branch of the community alert group will be held in Ballymitty hall on Tuesday, November 21, at 8 p.m.

DANCING

Dancing continues every Thursday night in Tír na nÓg with music this Thursday, November 16, South Bound, Thursday the 23rd Richie Halpin, and Thursday the 30th Michael Ellard. Starts from 9.30 all welcome refreshmen­ts served.

IRISH DANCING CLASSES

Irish dancing classes in Carrig Community Centre every Monday afternoon. Girls and boys from age three years up welcome. 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Junior and senior infants. 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. all other ages. Contact Alice 087 9364255.

DRIVERS NEEDED

Voluntary Bus Drivers are urgently needed to bring the Residents of Grantstown Daycare Centre to Sunday Mass. If you have an hour or two to spare any Sunday morning and have a license to drive a Minibus we would love to hear from you. You could bring them to Ballymitty or Carrig Church. GAA CLUB NOTES

The AGM will take place this Thursday evening down in the complex starting at 8 p.m. Please try to attend this very important meeting, it is YOUR Club.

Lotto draw this Tuesday night with a jackpot of €13,700 up for grabs. Tickets are two euro each and can be purchased from the post office Carrig, Seabreeze Laundrette Carrig, Tír na nÓg, Wellington­bridge, and from any Club Officer down in the complex.

Then we have two individual­s and two groups who have reached the semi-final stage of St James talent competitio­n, on last Friday Bua and Adi Roche O’Leary competed while this Friday Darren Cadogen and Aimee Fleming group will take stage. ARA OVER-50S GROUP

Following our AGM of last week, our warmest and hearfelt appreciati­on was extended to our very popular retiring chairperso­n, Jack Handcock. Jack has served our Bannow-Ballymitty committe steadfastl­y over many years and has been engaged in every committee role, demonstrat­ing a commendabl­e level of committmen­t and dedication to his duties. Jack will continue to be an active member of the group and is very deserving of retirement from official duties.

We offer a very warm welcome to Cathy Fitzharris, our new chairperso­n and wish her and the committee a productive and exciting year ahead.

While all normal activities continue, our next major event will be our annual Christmas Dinner in December.
