Rossiter nets winner

A Dermot Rossiter penalty earned New Ross Town a priceless three points as they overcame previously unbeaten Cloughbawn in their Division 2 match on Sunday.

Leaders St. Cormac’s took full advantage, beating Wexford Celtic 3-0 to take a three-point advantage at the top of the table, with James Sweeney, Mick Sweeney and Johnny Fitzgerald getting their goals.

Conor Hickey (two) and Ian White got the goals for Adamstown as they edged out Crossabeg 3-2, with Theo Doyle and Cian Boggan replying.

Killenagh Wanderers hit local rival St. Joseph’s for six without reply, with Martin Flynn netting a hat-trick and Pat Naughter, Brian O’Connor and Dominic Maher adding a goal apiece.

Division 3 leaders Enniscorth­y United picked up another three points on Sunday as they saw off Bree United 2-0.

Jamie Fox opened the scoring from the penalty spot and Hasane Smyth sealed the deal with their second.

Rosslare Port remain hot on the heels of the leaders after edging out Enniscorth­y Town 2-1 with goals from Jamie McMahon and Harry Corish.

Gorey Rangers are also in the shake-up and they earned a 4-0 win in Bunclody, with Phelim Gallagher bagging a double and Derrick Woods and Kevin ‘Bear’ Kennedy also hitting the back of the net.

Nicky Sinnott (penalty) and Mark Lee got the goals for Cushinstow­n as they eked out a 2-1 win away to Shamrock Rovers, with Robert Moorehouse scoring for the hosts.

Duncannon ran out 3-0 winners against Ajax Athletic, with Michael O’Grady scoring twice and Keith Donnelly also getting in on the act.

Table-toppers Wexford Albion continued their winning ways with a 2-1 triumph over Rathnure on Sunday.

Jay Leniston and Shane O’Connor scored for the leaders, with Shane Lawlor replying for Rathnure.

Barry Dunne was the main man for Oylegate United, bagging a hat-trick to earn them a 3-1 win over New Ross Celtic, with Slavwomir Jastrzebsk­i replying.

Ballymurn put in an impressive display, winning 5-0 away to Bridge Rovers with doubles from Eoghan Kehoe and P.J. Bourke and a Shane O’Rourke goal.

It was the O’Reilly show for Rosslare Strand as they saw off Shelburne United 3-1, with Danny, Lee and Richard getting their goals.

All Blacks moved to the top of the Division 4 table with a 4-2 win over Ferns on Sunday, with Conor Breen, David Moore, Mark Doyle and Adam Devereux getting the goals for the winners.

Carne FC proved much too good for Courtown Hibs, chalking up a 4-0 win with goals from Fintan Mullins (two), Robbie Reville and Fergie Buckley.

Elsewhere, Curracloe ran out emphatic 8-1 winners over Castledock­rell, with Thomas Murphy bagging a hat-trick for the seasiders and Gary Breslin, Owen Parker, Dylan Dixon, Kerill Sutton and an own goal adding to their tally.

Glynn Barntown strengthen­ed their position at the summit of Division 4A by edging out Cloughbawn 2-1 in the top of the table clash on Sunday.

Glynn Barntown took the lead after the interval when John Leacy pounced on a defensive error, and when one on one with the ’keeper he coolly slotted the ball to the bottom corner.

Moments later the visitors doubled their advantage when a clearance fell to Kevin Carmody and he fired a 25-yard volley to the net.

Kevin Murphy pulled a goal back for Cloughbawn, but they couldn’t force the equaliser.

An Eric Cummins goal was enough for Campile United to pick up the points in Ballymurn, while Mick Walsh and Thomas Brady got on the scoresheet for Enniscorth­y United as they beat Wexford Albion 2-0.

Greg O’Rourke netted a double for Gorey Celtic and Peter Murphy got their other goal as they won 3-1 in Tombrack, while Boolavogue overcame Wexford Celtic 3-0 with goals from Tony Ryan, Eoin Whelan and Higor Garacez.

Taghmon United saw off St. Joseph’s 5-1, with William Codd, Luke Sinnott, Darren Carty, Mick O’Grady and J.B. Murphy getting their goals.

Kiltealy kept on course for the Division 5 title with a 5-0 win away to Bree United on Sunday.

St. Leonards had to settle for a point away to Killenagh, with Billy Dunne scoring for the hosts and Matty Flynn replying.

Ferns earned a 4-3 win away to St. Cormac’s, with Ryan Nolan contributi­ng a hat-trick and Hagi getting their other goal.

James Gahan, Mark Walsh and Dean Fortune hit the back of the net for the saints.

Camolin overcame Enniscorth­y Town 6-2, thanks to a hat-trick from Paul Carton and goals from Conor Mulholland (two) and Patrick Carton.

Davidd Ruszczychi bagged a hat-trick for New Ross Town in their 6-0 win over Cushinstow­n, with Craig Delaney adding a double and Dylan Delaney also getting in on the act.

Paul Delaney and Jamie Keating got the goals for Stoney Rovers in their 2-1 win over Adamstown, with Shane Bradley replying.
