SENIOR CITIZENS QUIZ

We would like to thank the following people for their support of the table quiz in aid of the senior citizens Christmas party:

Goresbridg­e and second in Moate, along with an adjudicato­r’s special award for set, light and sound, and several nomination­s, sadly, we did not qualify for the all-Ireland Final, but everyone had a wonderful experience. We also had the privilege of having the playwright, Henry Hudson, in the audience in Cork – seeing his play performed for the first time.

‘Up the Garden Path’ and ‘A Galway Girl’ will compete in an independen­t drama festival in Glenealy, Wicklow in January. But for now, everyone will take a break for the festive season – Like Camross Drama Group on Facebook for updates and news.

DANCING AT CAMROSS

The December dance will be a fundraiser for Caroreigh Church Funds and will be held on Friday, December 1. in Camross Ballroom with dancing from 10 p.m. till late. Music by Brendan and Patricia Lee. Adm. €8 including the tea.

TAGHMON ICA

The November meeting took place on Wednesday the 15th. After the opening prayer the business got under way. Plans were made for our Christmas dinner which takes place on December 5. Shoe boxes were brought in for the child of hope and the competitio­n for the nicest pair of slippers was won by Marie Greene.

The slippers are donated every year to the Women’s Refuge. Members also donated toiletries and children’s clothes. These items are always needed, so if you have any of the following: Children’s clothes, Women’s clothes and everyday items like washing powders and toiletries.

For the demonstrat­ion we welcomed back Syl Doyle from Wilton Gardens. He gave us plenty of tips for winter gardening and answered our questions. He even demonstrat­ed the way to make perfect soup.

The next meeting takes place on December 6. The demonstrat­ion is Christmas flower arranging with Lorane Graydon. This will be an open meeting so come and join us at 7.30 in the Scout Hall.

CAROREIGH PARENTS AGM

The AGM of Caroreigh parents’ council will take place on Wednesday, November 29, at 8 p.m. in St Garvan’s NS. There will be review of activities over the past year. After the election of the committee for the coming year, future plans will be discussed. All parents, including new parents are most welcome to attend, with no obligation on any parent to take up a role on the committee.

LOCAL TRANSPORT

Local Link Wexford provides a bus service from Camross and Taghmon to Wexford, Monday to Friday, at 8.55 a.m. and Monday to Saturday at 11.55 a.m. Door to door service available if required. There are also services to Wexford from Camross on Tuesday at 10.05 a.m., Wednesday at 10 a.m., on Saturdays there is a service to Wexford at 8.25 a.m. to Wexford and onto the Park Run at Johnstown Castle.
