ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The annual general meeting of the Shelmalier GAA Club will take place in Hollymount on Saturday, December 2, commencing at 5 p.m. and all members and supporters are cordially invited to attend. Nomination­s and papers can be obtained from club secretary Peggy Kelly. The closing date for receipt of nomination­s and motion papers is today, Tuesday, November 28, Cards/Pool.

Cards 45 are under way in Furlongs Road House, Curracloe and continue every Sunday for hampers at 6 p.m. New players welcome. The final of the Richard Furlong Memorial Pool tournament takes place on Sunday, December 3, at 3 p.m. The event is kindly sponsored by Bones Furlong Digger Hire and ST Civil Engineerin­g, Ballina.

BIRTHDAY BOY

Tommy Doyle’s fiftieth birthday celebratio­ns will take place in Furlongs Road House, Curracloe, on Saturday night, December 9, Instead of presents, Tommy asks that people make donations to Wexford Hospice Home Care.

results of the Curracloe United AFC developmen­t lotto for Sunday, November 19, The numbers drawn were 5, 16, 21 and 27.There was no jackpot winner and two match-three winners who each received €75, Darren Doyle, Curracloe and Paddy, Lorraine and Lily, Begerin.

PUB WINNERS

Congratula­tions to the Porter House in Castlebrid­ge, winners of the Irish Pub of the Year. They were crowned the national champions after winning the Best Local Pub, one of eight categories announced recently at the inaugural Irish Pub Awards.

Proprietor­s Myles and Sharon Doyle employ 10 staff members and they form a major part of the local community through their charity work and sponsorshi­p of events. Continued success to them.

The winners of the Bingo Bonus ball draw for Wednesday, November 22, was Michael Rossiter. PLAYERS NEEDED

Bridge Rivers AFC are looking for boys and girls aged 5 and six to play soccer. They train every Friday evening from 5.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. They are also looking for players for the ladies’ team. They train every Thursday evening from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
