BREE AC NEWS

Bree AC AGM takes place on this Thursday November 30 at 7.30 p.m. in Bree Hall followed by the presentati­on of our annual Awards. Light refreshmen­ts will be served. All athletes and their parents are welcome to attend. There will be no Indoor Training on that night.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL

The annual St Vincent de Paul Collection will take place next Saturday and Sunday, December 2/3. The collection will be in the church Porch after Mass in Bree Galbally and Ballyohgue. All support for this worthy cause would be greatly appreciate­d. All money collected in the Enniscorth­y district are used in the area.

BREE MACRA NEWS

Congratula­tions to Sarah Doyle, Cian O’Sullivan and Sinéad Doyle, who won their round of Public Speaking last weekend. Speaking on the topic ‘Population Control is vital for Humanity’ in Portloaise they overcame stiff competitio­n to qualify for the all-Ireland Final on Saturday next, December 2. There were extra celebratio­ns when Sinéad was also announced as Best Speaker on the night.

Great night also for the club in Kilmuckrid­ge recently with the women’s team winning the County Title before the men’s teams topped their groups and came face to face in the final with the teams level 1-1 after full time. It took penalties to separate them and Bree A emerged champions 3-2. Bree will now travel to the all-Ireland Finals on Sunday next. Best of luck to all three teams in the all-Ireland Finals.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Chess and Draughts classes in Bree Hall continue each Tuesday night for eight- to 16-year-olds from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. All young people from the parishes of Bree, Davidstown and Cloughbawn are welcome to come along.

BREE YOUTH CLUB

We would like to say a huge well done to all of our six teams who participat­ed in the soccer tournament on November 17. Our under-15 and under-18 team took where pipped to the post in a penalty shootout. Great determinat­ion put in from all participan­ts on the night.

SOCIAL DANCING

The next date for social dancing in Oylegate Community Centre is Sunday, December 10. Music on the night is by Teddy and Cathal Barry, who make a welcome return on this occasion. Dancing from 9.30 p.m. Admission is €8, so come along for a great night of music, song and dance.

A very big thank you to everyone who helped r took part in the concert on Friday night. It was a a lovely Evening here in Glenbrien Thank You to the members of the Wexford Male Voice Choir along with the children of the Holy Family school. To all who donated cakes and buns and also those who donated prizes for the raffle it was very much appreciate­d.

HOLY FAMILY SCHOOL

Well done to the girls and the boys’ teams who reached the finals of the Rackard League. The girls’ team faced tough opposition in St Patrick’s Park on October 26 They lost out to Glynn national sch. but they gave a fantastic performanc­e were determined and never gave up.

The boys’ team reached the County Final by overcoming Kilrane NS in the district final to become the district Champions and by beateing Clonroche N.S. in the county semi-final In the County Final the boys gave a very strong performanc­e against Ballindagg­in N.S. but unfortunat­ely the result did not go their way Well done to all who took part, who were excellent representi­tives of our school. Thanks to all the parents for their continued support and those who gave lifts to all the matches. Roll on next season.

GLENBRIEN TEXT ALERT

Glenbrien Community Text Alert are holding two collection evenings to gather the subscripti­ons for the coming year. These will be held on Thursday, November 30, and Monday, December 4, from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. in the Old School Centre.

The subscripti­on for 2018 is €5 per phone. Your annual subscripti­on is essential to the continued successful operation of Text Alert in the community so please spread the word to your neighbours and friends. Please note that new members are welcome to join and will be required to pay €20.

PARISH DRAW COLLECTORS

A meeting of Parish Draw Collectors will be held in the Parochial House on Tuesday, November 28, at 7.30 p.m. All collectors are requested to attend.

BINGO FUND RAISER

Bingo will be held in Mernagh’s lounge every Thursday. All proceeds from the raffle will go to Oylegate Youth Club. Please support.

MASS TIMES

Please note Mass times in Oylegate: Saturday vigil Mass is at 6.30 p.m.; Sunday morning Mass is at 10.30 a.m. hold its AGM on Friday, January 12. Details will be published later. The Coiste na nÓg endof-year meeting will be held in Oulart Community Centre on Sunday, December 17, starting at 8 p.m. All club members, adult and underage mentors, coaches, parents/guardians are encouraged to attend.

GAA DEVELOPMEN­T DRAW

The results of the November Draw are as follows: Robert Browne (€100), John Ormonde, Wexford Sand (€50) and Noel Doyle (€50). The big Christmas Draw will be held shortly.

CAMOGIE FUNDRAISER

Oulart-The Ballagh camogie club has organised an Edward Hayden cookery demonstrat­ion in the Riverside Hotel, Enniscorth­y at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28. Alongside Edward’s cooking delights, there will be a variety of stalls showcasing their products. It promises to be a great night’s entertainm­ent. Tickets cost €15 each or two for €25 and will be available from camogie club members and the club committee.

UNDER-18 CAMOGIE

Oulart-The Ballagh under-18 camogie team will contest the Premier final against St Martin’s or Shelmalier­s St Ibar’s on Sunday, December 3. Time and venue not yet confirmed.

VINTAGE ROAD RUN

A Vintage Tractor/Car Road Run will take place on Sunday, December 3, starting at Oulart Community Centre at midday. This event is being run in aid of Oulart Community Centre.

CAKE SALE AND CRAFT FAIR

On Sunday, December 3 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) Oulart Scouts will hold a Cake Sale in Oulart Community Centre. Donations of home-baking would be greatly appreciate­d. Contact Siobhán at 086 0792160. There will be a variety of stalls including Toys, Christmas Crafts and Decoration, Beauty, cakes and Candles etc. If you would like to have a stall (€15), contact Trisha at 086 3080403. CRAFT TOGETHER

Every Tuesday at 8 p.m., a group of people interested in practising and learning crafts such as knitting, crochet, embroidery etc, meet in Marty’s Bar, Oulart. All crafts and craft practition­ers are welcome to drop in and join the group.
