Michael Breen re-elected President of St. Peter’s PPU

-

MICHAEL Breen, president of St. Peter’s College Past Pupils Union, was re-elected for a second term at the organisation’s recent AGM.

The evening began with Mass which was celebrated by past pupil Fr. Jim Doyle in the College Chapel. At the election of officers which followed, Noel Browne was elected secretary, Martin Breen treasurer, David Power PRO, and Michael Breen president.

Jim Rossiter, Stephen Dwyer, Declan Cloney, Robbie O’Callaghan (school principal) and Sean Foley (vice principal) make up the rest of the committee.

Michael Breen, from Staplestown, Murrintown, graduated from St. Peter’s College in 2004 and went on to study engineering. He worked as an engineer abroad for a period before returning to the family farm in recent years.

Speaking at the AGM, he said: ‘Our first priority is to organise what has now become the annual Christmas Carol singing concert in Rowe St Church which, this year, will take place on Thursday, December 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets will be on sale from the Wexford Art Centre, It’s Good to Talk offices in Hill Street, and St. Peters College.

‘The takings will be divided between Wexford-based It’s Good 2 Talk, who offer affordable counselling and psychotherapy support services, and St. Peter’s College Past Pupils Union.’

He added that the event has drawn huge crowds over the past few years and has been a phenomenal success.

‘This year’s concert will be even bigger and better...an event not to be missed,’ he said.
