Brickz European HQ to create up to 20 Wexford jobs

- By ANNA HAYES

UP TO 20 jobs are to be created when Bricks 4 Kidz creates its European headquarters in Wexford in the coming years.

Bricks 4 Kidz, a worldwide franchise, is run locally by businessman Karl Fitzpatrick who, in 2015, was awarded the Irish Master Franchise for the business.

His success with the Irish market has been recognised by the Head Office in the US who have now extended his Master Franchise rights to encompass Europe.

As part of that, a European headquarters is to be established in Wexford, creating 20 jobs over the next three years.

Bricks 4 Kidz is a global educational play business which teaches the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) to children through LEGO. The concept was an instant hit in Ireland and businesses are now operating in Wexford, Dublin, Donegal and Louth.

Mr. Fitzpatrick explained that this new role would see all queries and support for Europe-based Bricks 4 Kidz branches coming to the Wexford headquarters.

‘In Wexford, we have people employed in Quality and Assurance, Digital Marketing, Sales and Finance, etc, and they’ll provide ongoing support right across Europe.’

So far, Bricks 4 Kidz has franchises in eight European countries and Mr. Fitzpatrick’s role will be to further promote them in these countries and expand into the other 19 countries.

Mr. Fitzpatrick is coming to the end of a two-year term as President of Wexford Chamber but was recently elected to the Board of Chambers Ireland, a national lobbying group. Mr. Fitzpatrick said he would continue to work to progress the interests of Wexford businesses through this role.

Over the course of his twoyear term, Mr. Fitzpatrick presided over the official opening of Wexford Chamber’s new office, saw the town awarded a coveted Purple Flag, saw the arrival of natural gas, fibre broadband, new international retailers and businesses going online with the help of Google. He paid tribute to the support he received from Chamber members and the wider business community during his tenure.
