-

WELLINGTONBRIDGE is a must visit destination this Christmas for its excellent shopping, warm customer experience and its buzzy atmosphere.

Christmas in Wellingtonbridge is always a magical time of year made all the more so by the welcome offered by its business owners and local residents.

The picturesque village has several roads leading into it so it forms a natural meeting place for people in the south of the county.

Located in the heart of south County Wexford, the village’s retail offering and level of service to customers has never been better. Wallace’s Supervalu lies at the centre of the village retail experience, providing for all of your food, Christmas drinks and clothing needs, and a visit to their Christmas Shop at the hardware store is a must.

At Hair by Jacqui you can be assured of a fantastic haircut for a new style for Christmas and the village has a wide variety of services - many of whom have been in the village for years - including Ryan’s Funeral Home, Tom Moran Car Sales, A2ZEE Country Cabs, Mick’s Car Valeting and at Waterbabies.

Each business has unique offerings but the common thread which binds this fantastic community together is their owners’ willingness to work together, coupled with a willingness from local residents to shop local thereby sustaining jobs locally.

Arriving into the village at any time of the year there is always a buzzy atmosphere and this is especially true at Christmas time.

For time immemorial the village by the water has been

a hub of activity, bridging the gap between the retail hubs of Wexford town and New Ross.

To this day you can enjoy hassle free parking, dining and entertainment in the village, with no parking meters to worry about.

The thriving village was historically called Ballyowen (Baile Eoin) after the townland it occupies.

The village was on the Limerick to Rosslare railway line. The railway station opened on August 1, 1906 and closed on September 18, 2010.

To this day, through the ingenuity and graft of its business owners, the village remains an important centre of activity so be sure to shop in Wellingtonbridge this Christmas as you will be surprised by the retail offering and friendly service there.
