ALL BLACKS AFC

Our 2020 Vision Development Plan took a huge step forward in the past few weeks with the installation of our new training pitch floodlighting. This significant investment is in addition to the prior large investment in drainage works with our grass pitches and underlines the clubs commitment to provide top class facilities for our members. The new lights not only provide fantastic light quality for all our users but also offer the utmost in durability and safety.

This phase of our plan came about because of a huge amount of work behind the scenes by many club members who helped out with the installation and brings our total investment to date to over €20,000. In addition the club has received the fantastic news that we have been awarded a significant Sports Capital Grant towards the cost of our astroturf pitch. This is the result of a lengthy process and a huge amount of work by our development committee.

Our funding package for the astroturf pitch is now largely in place and work will immediately commence to raise the last of the funding needed to get the pitch installed in 2018. All Blacks AFC wish to thank all our friends who support our weekly split-the-pot draw and other fundraising efforts.

A huge thank you also to our sponsors and envelope sellers. Every cent raised by our draw goes towards our grounds development and continued support is essential as we continue to provide excellent club and community facilities which will be enjoyed for generations to come. We all know how climate change affects our lives. The recent Hurricane Ophelia is a good example. In Rathangan School we are doing our bit to raise awareness of and reduce climate change.

We are recycling, using less water and turning the lights off when we are not using them. Also this year we are going for our fourth Green School Flag which is ‘TRAVEL’. This ties in well with climate change as it requires us to try walk, cycle or carpool where possible instead of using the cars. We ask that all the families in our community do their bit for climate change. Thank you from all at St Anne’s NS
