NORTH POLE ON THE QUAYFRONT

-

A VISIT to meet Santa is a whole new experience on Wexford Quayfront this year.

The Wexford Winterland Festival, a Wexford County Council initiative in partnership with Lantern Events, has opened the doors to a new attraction, Santa’s North Pole Experience, alongside established attractions, Christmas Express and the Wexford People Wexford On Ice.

According to the promoters, there is high demand for tickets to Santa’s North Pole Experience, particularly at weekends.

Festival Organiser, Brian Byrne of Lantern Events, commented, ‘This is something new for Wexford and we are delighted with the reaction to the Experience. There are very few tickets left for weekend slots but still availability for midweek afternoon slots.’

According to the promoters, the new attraction is captivating the young, and not-so-young.

‘Young and old are captivated by the magic of Christmas at the North Pole as soon as they enter the magic portal. Beyond here, visitors approach the Magic Forest with snow covered Christmas trees glistening in the midnight moonlight,’ said a spokesperson.

‘At the end of the forest are the Enchanted Gates to the Elves Village where special access can be gained to the top-secret Elves Workshop. Families are then brought individually to meet and receive a gift from the one and only Santa Claus.’

Santa’s North Pole Experience runs until Saturday, December 23, and tickets are €8 per adult and €16 per child. Under 2’s are €8 with under 12 months free. Children’s tickets include a special gift from Santa and adult tickets include a hot beverage.

Other favourite Winterland events have also returned this year including The Christmas Express where little ones are enchanted by Christmas tales from Mrs. Claus. The Wexford People Wexford on Ice is also running on the quay until January 7. Tickets for all events are available at wexfordwinterland. com, at 053-9199199 or at any Lantern Box Office.
