The awards ceremony took place in Ferrycarrig Hotel on November 21. Dympna also congratulated Mary Kelly for coming second in the Jem Pack baking competition and for Mary Margaret Roche for her lovely decorated wreath.

We recently had a great day in the Taghmon-Camross GAA Complex where we had our annual senior citizens Christmas party. A big thank you goes to Fr Robert MC for the day and to Taghmon-Camross GAA Complex for the lovely venue. We would also like to extend a massive thank you to all who entertained us during a wonderful afternoon. And let’s not forget the ICA ladies who prepared and served a delicious Christmas dinner.

The talented Mary Kelly gave us a baking great demonstration with a fabulous chocolate ‘Bûche de Noël’ or Yule log. Delicious tea and scones were then served by Esther Rhynehart and Margaret O’Gorman. The winner of our monthly competition of the ‘best household hint’ was Alice Whitty with her great tip of cleaning boards with salt and lemon.
