COMMUNITY LOTTO

There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €7,000. The winning numbers were 6, 7, 13 and 16. There was two matchthree winners who received €100 each. The winners was Peter Colfer and Colm Rossister. The next lotto draw will be held on Tuesday, December 12, and the jackpot now stands at €7,200.

SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY

The senior citizens New Year Party takes place in the Rathangan Bar on Sunday, January 7, at 2 p.m. Invitation­s will be delivered around December 15. Any enquiries please contact Gerry at 087 6951360.

LITTLE BREECHES

Rathangan’s Little Breeches Preschool and Montessori offers a warm and welcoming environmen­t where children can explore, play and learn in our outdoor and indoor environmen­ts. Parent and Toddler Group m in Rathangan Hall, Tuesday mornings from 10.30 – midday Babies to pre-school age. Come along and enjoy a coffee and a chat.

CHURCH DOOR

In an effort to maintain better heat and comfort in the church it has been decided to close the main door for the winter months during Mass times on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings. Entry will be through the side door (scar door) and the tower door if necessary. We thank you for your cooperatio­n in this matter.

FASTNET ROVERS FC

We are delighted to have been allocated €71k towards our clubhouse developmen­t from the Sports Capital Grant allocation­s. The hard work starts now in securing the remaining funding required to make this a reality. We want to thank all those who helped us get both the planning applicatio­n and grant applicatio­n approved. This includes local community groups, our neighborin­g sports organisati­ons, parents, volunteers and most importantl­y our club members young and old. We look forward to everyone’s continued support to help us get this initiative off the ground.

DANCEFIT

MCCALL’S COTTAGES

A big welcome home to Ann Cullen who has moved back from living in New Ross to live at No 2. Also to Peggy Rankin who has moved into No 4 after years of living in UK and in Dublin. Ann and Peggy both grew up close by and look forward to happy times renewing old acquaintan­ces. We also welcome Maisie Ross, from Clonmines, who is moving into No 3 this week-end. We hope that all will find happiness and peace at McCall’s Cottages. No 1, 5 and 6 are still available for anyone with local connection who is over 54 and qualifies for a social house.

A large Crowd enjoyed the Christmas Tree Lighting in Duncormick on Saturday Night last the Lights were switch on by Sammy with Carols from the Rathangan choir, followed by great session in Sammy’s.

SYMPATHY

We extend sympathy to Pat Jordan, Reahouse, on the death of her father Tommy Cousins, Ballask, Kilmore during the week. May he rest in peace. Card sale fundraiser will take place on Friday, December 15, at Murphy’s SuperValu from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Environmen­t Group’s Christmas Cards are presently available from various outlets including Caroline’s Cafe, Topaz Garage, SuperValu, Teresa’s Shop, Vera Fox or a committee member.

Reminder: A WEEE (Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment) cage only for small Household electrical goods and a container for the recycling of fluorescen­t tubes is situated at the back of the Railway Social Club. It is open on Saturday Mornings between 10.00 and 11.30 a.m., weather permitting.

SYMPATHY

We offer sympathy to the family of the late Tony Heffernan, Ballygeary, Rosslare Harbour, who passed away on November 16 A native of Dublin, Tony came to live in Wexford in the early seventies. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St Patrick’s Church and he was laid to rest in St Aidan’s Cemetery, Kilrane.

He is deeply missed by his partner Donna, children Shannon, Shane, Charlie, Jamie, Annalee, Tony, Matthew, John Paul, Diarmuid, Edward and Mitzy, brothers and sisters, grandchild­ren, extended family and many friends. May he rest in peace.
