A special mention to Gerry Byrne for setting the question and controllin­g the scoreboard and to Mark O’Connor our quiz master on the night. €443.50 was raised on the night, which are much needed funds for our local station.

CHRISTMAS CLOSURE

Rosslare Community and Sports Centre will be closed for Christmas from December 23 to January 7. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Christmas.

KIDS CHRISTMAS PARTY

There is a kids Christmas party on in the Rosslare Community and Sports Centre on Friday, December 15, from 3.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. We will have a disco with DJ Kalen, Bouncy Castle, arts and crafts, Face Painting. Suitable for Primary School Children. €5 per child. Shop will be open.

LIGHT FOR A LIFE

This is the time of year we would all like to remember our loved ones who have passed on. If you would like your loved one remembered on the Village Christmas Tree in Rosslare car park you can do so by donating €3 and a light will be remembered in their name. Fr James will also say a prayer for them at Christmas Mass. There is a donation box and book placed in all the shops and in Rosslare Community and Sports Centre.

HORSE SHOE THROWING

The annual Rosslare Horse Shoe Throwing Championsh­ips takes place on St Stephen’s Day, Meet in Redmond’s the Bay at midday A great fun day for all involved, new competitor­s’ always welcome.

Congratula­tions to Rose Fenton, who picked up €132 in our weekly draw. The next draw will take place in the Bay on Friday, December 15. Looking for that perfect Christmas present? Why not give a present of a multi draw, the gift that will keep giving. A Christmas present from us to you, yes we are guaranteei­ng the draw on December 22 will be a minimum of €300.

COIS BARRY HOUSE

The Children’s Christmas party will take place on Sunday, December 10. The youth club is now officially on the Christmas holiday and will return in January.

The Community House is now taking bookings for 2018 so if you want to hold a party or meeting etc, please contact David Clancy 087 7631605. Taekwondo is extending their classes on a Saturday morning: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Adults, 11 a.m. midday: Advanced students, 1 p.m. 2 p.m.: Beginner students. AA Meetings are on every Sunday Evening at 8 p.m.

Spinning Classes – Tuesday morning 9.45 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. that evening also Thursday 9.45 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. come along and join in we promise no pot holes.

ROSSLARE TIDY TOWNS

CAROL SINGING

After the great success of last year the carol singers organised by Tidy Towns will once again entertain us on Christmas morning at 11.30 under the tree in the car park. Everyone is welcome to join in rehearsals are taking place at the moment for more details contact Margaret at 086 1257487.

CHRISTMAS DAY SWIM

Arrive early as Swim starts at midday at the lifeguards tower. Please support the bucket collection as all proceeds go towards St Mary’s Day Care Centre. The warm Soup and Mulled Wine is a must try while watching the Swim. Sponsorshi­p Cards are available from Rosslare Community and Sports Centre.
