CHRISTMAS PARTY
The Castlebridge senior citizens Christmas party takes place in Hotel Curracloe on Sunday, December 17, at 3 p.m. A bus will leave the community centre in Castlebridge at two o’clock.
CURRACLOE SCHOOL NEWS
A Christmas concert will be held on Wednesday, December 20 at 1 p.m. All are welcome to go along to the school hall and get in the festive mood. There will be two Christmas raffles in the school this year. The main raffle (for adults) will be held after the Christmas concert and the children’s raffle will be held the following day. The staff wish to thank all who donated prizes for the raffle, particularly their main sponsors Patsy Roche (trailer of logs,), McCauley’s Chemist (Hamper), Hotel Curracloe and Kehoe’s Agri and DIY Blackwater (€50 vouchers). A big thank you also to all the ticket sellers. Thanks to Noreen Hearne, who is the main organiser.
Recent split-the-pot winner was Mary Murphy, who won €128.
Curracloe Music Group will be performing for the residents of Wygram Nursing Home today, Tuesday, December 12, and for the senior citizens’ Christmas party in Castlebridge on Wednesday, December 13. The school is very fortunate to have the very talented Mrs Martha Torpey and her equally talented daughter teaching music in the school. Well done to recent split-the-pot winner Celine Murphy, who won €123, and to recent winners, Don Hearne, who won €150, and Simon Canning, who won €165.

RNLI FUNDRAISER
Curracloe Playgroup held an RNLI fundraiser recently and would like to thank everyone who supported by buying tickets, selling tickets, donating prizes and money towards this worthy cause. They raised a total of €19,010. A massive ‘Thank you’ to everyone.
CHRISTMAS COFFEE DAY
The Porter House in Castlebridge will hold their annual Christmas Coffee Day in aid of Castlebridge Day Care Centre on Wednesday, December 20, from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. Why not drop in and join the staff on the day for a chat while enjoying all the usual treats, mince pies, cakes, buns, tarts, plus a cup of coffee or tea. There will also be a raffle with some fantastic prizes. The tickets cost €2 each or three for €5.
Later on that night they will hold their Christmas Bingo session. A real night of entertainment with all the usual prizes, and live music on the night with John Kenny and Pam Rossiter. split-the-pot was JD Masterson, who won €101. The next draw will be held on Monday, December 18. As this will be the last draw before Christmas there will also be a Lucky Dip for a prize of €50 as well as some festive prizes. Entry envelopes are available from local businesses. Thank you for your continued support.
SCHOOL CONCERT
Scoil Mochua will present a Christmas Concert on Wednesday, December 20. Staff and pupils are busily preparing for this event which will take place two days before the school closes for the Christmas vacation.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Oulart-The Ballagh GAA will hold its AGM on Friday, January 12. Details will be published later. The Coiste na nÓg end-ofyear meeting will be held in Oulart Community Centre on Sunday, December 17, starting at 8 p.m. All club members, adult and underage mentors, coaches, parents/guardians are encouraged to attend.
