GAA CLUB NOTES

The use of the arena is now in full swing with a number of the teams using it, If you wish to hire it out please contact Lar Lacey at 087 9162609. Please note that you are not allowed wear runners on it, multi studs must be worn. Its an excellent resource for the club and has one of the best surfaces in the county.

The walking track his also in use at the this time of the year, there is a donation box beside the steps so please feel free to donate money to pay for lights and insurance. The club will be running for a quiz on February 9 in Leevers lounge.

The master fixture list was realised with the first team in action will be the under-20 footballer­s, on the weekend of February 17.

No fixtures have been realised yet. The adult teams first game will be on football on the weekend on of March 3 while the hurlers play will be out the following weekend.

The lotto still stands at €15,000 with the next draw on January 29.

The monthly winners of the December €200 club are C & C providers and Peter O’Brien Ballinella­rd, who each receive €100.

Darren Byrne was named on the Wexford hurling panel recently which defeated Dublin in the Walsh Cup semi-final. We also have a number of players currently training with county underage themes. On this weekend 100 years ago, Blackwater defeated Ballaghkee­n to capture the Enniscorth­y District Hurling Title, winning on a large scoreline of seven goal and four points to nil.
