BEREAVEMENT

One of the Ballagh and later Oulart-The Ballagh’s most renowned corner-backs, the late Mick Breen, went to his eternal reward on Thursday, January 11, at Castle Gardens Nursing Home, Enniscorthy, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Maureen (née Doran) and sister of Mrs Peg Nolan, Mick was laid to rest in the Ballagh Cemetery following Requiem Mass in Kilmuckridge Church, last Sunday, January 14. Sincere sympathy is extended to the Nolan and Doran families, extended families and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

RETIREMENTS

Two of Oulart-The Ballagh and Wexford’s greatest ever gaelic players, David Redmond and Mary Leacy, announced their retirements from the inter-county scene recently but thankfully they both will continue to ply their trade with their local hurling and camogie club for many years to come. Both players deserve immense thanks for their long and dedicated service to the Model County and for the inspirational and sporting example that they gave to youngsters.
