DANCING AT CAMROSS

The February dance will be held in Camross Ballroom on Friday, February 2, with music by the very popular Checkers. Admission is €8 including the tea. Dancing 10 p.m. till midnight. We hope to see all our usual supporters dancing the night away and of course, new faces always welcome.

CAMROSS PASSION PLAY

Rehearsals are now in full swing and director, Michael Stafford is very happy with progress. There are a few positions still vacant, two ‘Apostles’ needed and a some ‘Soldiers/Templeguar­ds’ also males/females for crowd scenes.

Next rehearsals are on Tuesday, January 23, at 8 p.m. and Thursday, January 25, at 8 p.m. in Camross Hall.

Come along and be part of this wonderful project. You will be very welcome and the kettle will be on the boil.

TAGHMON NS

St Fintan’s NS are now accepting applicatio­ns for enrolments of junior infants wishing to start in September 2018. Enrolment forms can be collected from the school office Monday to Friday between 9.30 a.m. and 3 p.m., and should be returned on or before March 1.

ATHLETIC CLUB AGM

Taghmon Athletics Club AGM will take place on Tuesday, January 30, at 8 p.m. in the TAG office in Taghmon. Everyone is very welcome to attend.

ST GARVAN’S NS

On Monday last, South East Radio visited the school to record a programme for the Christian Media Trust. Pupils in fifth and sixth class spoke to Martin Colfer about the school and give detail of the various activities that happen during the course of the school year, the programme will be broadcast on Tuesday, January 23, at 8 p.m.

Dog’s Trust Ireland came to St Garvan’s on Tuesday last. Heather accompanie­d by her dog Ted, spoke to all the pupils in their class grouping about caring for and looking after their dogs. It was a very enjoyable and informativ­e experience for all.

Dance classes began in school on Thursday last. Anne-Marie Coney will lead these classes for the next eight weeks with all the students participat­ing in this area of the curriculum.
