SENIOR ALERT ALARM

This Alarm system is designed to help elderly people live securely in their own home with confidence, independen­ce and peace of mind. The alarm or pendant which can be worn as a wrist watch is completely free for the first year from November 1, then there is a fee for monitoring the alarm yearly after that.

Grantstown Daycare Centre can apply for the alarm on your behalf. To qualify for an alarm you must be aged 65 or over, living alone or with another person who meets the eligibilit­y criteria, resides within the geographic­al area of the relevant registered organisati­on and be able to benefit from the equipment supplied.

MEALS ON WHEELS

Would you benefit from a Hot Delicious and nutritious meal delivered to your door? Grantstown Daycare Centre operates a Meals On Wheels service every Tuesday and Thursday for a small fee. Why not give us a call at 051 561016.

Grandparen­ts’ Day – As part of Catholic Schools Week 2018 we will have Grandparen­ts’ Day on Wednesday, January 31, To begin we will have a Mass for our grandparen­ts at 10 a.m. in the church followed by a cup of tea in the school and a chance for grandparen­ts to visit the school and the classes. We look forward to seeing you all on the day as we know how important you are to our homes, schools and community.

Homework Club – Our new Homework Club begins at the end of January for pupils from first to sixth classes and our Breakfast Club starts again in two weeks. This started last term and was a huge success. We hope that lots of our pupils join these Clubs.

Thank you – Friends and parents of Ballymitty Ns, are most thankful and grateful to parents and local and Wexford businesses who supported us by donating goods and vouchers and buying lines for our raffle for a selection of Christmas Hampers. The lucky winners were, Anne Cleary, Mary O’Sullivan, Sam Cadogan, Nicole Cullenton, Olive Quirke, Margaret Sinnott and Judith O’Connor.

DANCING

Dancing continues in Tír na nÓg every Thursday night with music this Thursday the 25th by Southbound. All welcome refreshmen­ts served.

COFFEE MORNING

The monthly community coffee morning takes place this Thursday, January 25, in the Community Hall from 10 a.m. to midday. All are welcome to come along for coffee, cakes and chat – all free.

SPLIT-THE-POT

Congratula­tions to Theo D’Eathe on winning €134 in last week’s split-the-pot draw. Draw takes place in the community centre on Sunday after Mass. Thanks to all involved.

GAA BINGO

Our Tuesday night bingo continues tonight at 8 p.m. in Butlers. The jackpot currently stands at €475. Half books available for our younger bingo fanatics.

LOTTO

The GAA jackpot now stands €8,000 for tonight’s draw. Tickets are available weekly through club members and usual businesses for only €1.50 each. Last week’s club match-three winners were Maggie Cheevers (seller – Lisa Burke) and Sarah Kelly (seller – Keith Rooney).

RATHANGAN NS

PARISH COUNCIL

Rathangan parish council would sincerely like to thank all parishione­rs who supported the various fundraisin­g events etc. in any way throughout 2017. We would appreciate your continued support throughout 2018.

MUSIC FESTIVAL

South East Music Festival is pleased to announce that tickets for our 2018 festival are currently on sale in the following local outlets: Rathangan hall, The Cenacle, John Sinnott and Martina Furlong. The tickets are an ideal Christmas present for family and friends.

ST ANNE’S AC

The club has commenced training on Fridays form six years to adults. We are also commencing a second training evening on Wednesday nights starting January 17 for 10 years to adults. All training starts at 7 p.m. and finishes 8 p.m. or thereafter.

SAVINGS CLUB CLOSED

Cleariesto­wn Savings Club has unfortunat­ely had to close. We would like to thank you all for your support over the years and wish you all the best for the future.
