Concert evening at Opera House

A fundraising concert will take place at the National Opera House on Sunday, March 25, at 7.30 p.m. Presented by the Carty family, the event is in aid of the Alzheimers Society, St Brigid’s Day Care Centre and Abbeygale House, Wexford. The family is using the event as an opportunity to thank these organisations for the wonderful care that was given to their mother Maureen, who was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2011, and was cared for by these wonderful local institutions up till her sad passing recently. The concert is billed as a night to ‘Remember those who cannot’ and will be an evening of song from show-stopping musicals to lively swing, to dramatic anthems and classic soul featuring Tony Carry and Blackjack – Fintan Cleary, Bill Doyle and Colette Cleary.

There will also be a number of special guests including: Naoimh Penston, James McDermott, Maggs Jacob, Des Whelan. Catherine ‘Biddy’ Walsh, George Lawlor, Helena Bates and the Wexford Jersey Boys.
