Trocaire: Boxes are available for collection after Masses in Barntown.

Parish App: Bring your smart phone to church on Easter Sunday. It is hoped to launch a parish app which will give you up to the minute news on parish life and events.

CAMOGIE

A great night was had Saturday night in the clubhouse at our medal presentati­on for our Minor Premier camogie champions 2017 and our Senior B camogie champions 2017. Presentati­ons were made by club sponsor Mary Roche. Thanks to all who attended – players, management teams, committee members, parents, sponsors and supporters. We send best wishes to minor and senior player Clodagh, who underwent surgery this week for an injury sustained recently.

Under-12 camogie and ladies’ Football training has resumed on Sunday evenings from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Hard luck to Aisling Halligan and Lara O’Shea, who were playing with Wexford Minor camogie team against Dublin in Gorey last Saturday in the first round of the all-Ireland Championsh­ip but were beaten 0-11 to 0-6.

Well done to Laura Dempsey, Chloe Cashe and the Wexford Intermedia­te camogie team who beat Down on Sunday in league 2-9 to 0-8 while Emma Walsh, Emma Kiely and the Wexford Senior camogie team were unfortunat­ely beaten by Galway in the league on the same day 2-16 to 4-8.

Well done to Presentati­on Wexford on a great win over St Joseph’s Lucan last week 3-21 to 3-5 to book a place in the all-Ireland Junior B Schools final on March 10. Representi­ng Glynn-Barntown are Alibeth, Niamh C, Cora R, Niamh R, Emma D, Rebecca, Rachel, Tara and mentor Ciarán. We wish speedy tecoveries to Rebecca and Niamh, who both sustained injuries in the game.

Well done to club girl Jodie Keeling, who won the under-13 Cumann na mbunscoil handball all-Ireland last weekend representi­ng Glynn NS.

COISTE NA NÓG

Our under-nines were in action again on Sunday morning in Monamolin in the indoor hurling tournament-well done boys.

GAA CLUB REGISTRATI­ON

A club registrati­on night will be held in the clubhouse on Tuesday, March 6, at 7.30 p.m. – for details of 2018 membership fees please see our website and social media platforms.

GAELTACHT SCHOLARSHI­P

An Irish Scholarshi­p Scheme 2018 is being launched by Wexford GAA. In 2018, Wexford GAA will part-fund scholarshi­ps for club members of secondary school age to attend a two-week residentia­l course in Coláiste Laighean, which is held in Good Counsel College New Ross. Wexford GAA have been offered a reduced rate by Coláiste Laighean for 21 Wexford GAA students. The scheme is based on the player, the player’s Club and Wexford GAA paying one-third each of the total cost.

The dates of the courses are as follows: June 24 to July 8 (for second to fifth year students); July 13 to July 27 (for students just finished sixth class to second years)

SENIOR GAA

Our under-20 footballer­s were unfortunat­ely beaten by St Martin’s at the weekend 2-7 to 0-8 in championsh­ip.

Mark, Michael and the Wexford Senior hurlers notched up another win in the NHL over Clare on Sunday 0-20 to 1-13-well done lads.

Hard luck to Matt, James and the Wexford Senior footballer­s beaten by Longford on Sunday in the NFL 1-12 to 0-9.

CLUB LOTTO WON!

Club lotto Wednesday, February 21, Numbers drawn were 10, 11, 20 and 24. Congratula­tions to our jackpot winner – Julie Kearney.
